Chocolate Cake with Peppermint

Chocolate Cake with Peppermint – Peppermint flavor for your chocolate cake? This might not sound right to some chocolate cake fans but you better
give this cake recipe a try and for sure, you will have a change of heart.

Preparation & Cooking Time: 3 hours

Chocolate Cake with Peppermint

Chocolate CakeSAVE THIS!

Ingredients:
Butter for greasing
Flour for dusting
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
8 oz. chocolate, chopped
½ cup butter, sliced
½ teaspoon baking powder
Water
½ cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 ¼ cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For serving
Whipped cream
Peppermint candies, crushed
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease your cake pan with butter and dust with flour.
Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
Pour the water into a pot over medium heat.
Add the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl and place over water.
Let sit until melted.
Turn off heat.
Stir and let cool.
In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, eggs, sugar and vanilla extract.
Add the flour mixture into the buttermilk mixture and stir.
Pour the cake batter into the cake pan.
Bake in the oven for 50 minutes to 1 hour.
Let cool for 1 hour.
Top with the whipped cream and peppermint candies before serving.
