When it comes to chocolate cake, milk chocolate and dark chocolate are usually the first things on people’s minds.
But the truth is, the underrated white chocolate cake deserves attention too!

Ingredients:
Cake
½ teaspoon baking powder
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ cups white sugar
6 oz. white chocolate squares, chopped
½ cup hot water
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
Frosting
6 oz. white chocolate squares, chopped
2 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Whisk together the baking powder, all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
In a pan over low heat, add the chopped white chocolate and hot water.
Cook while stirring until melted.
Let cool.
Cream the butter and sugar until fluffy.
Stir in the eggs.
Add the flour mixture to the egg mixture alternately with the buttermilk.
Pour in the melted white chocolate.
Mix well.
Transfer the batter into a cake pan.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
To prepare the frosting, melt the white chocolate in the same pan and stir in the flour and milk.
Cook until thickened.
Turn off heat.
In a bowl, cream the remaining ingredients with an electric mixer until creamy.
Stir in the melted chocolate.
Apply the frosting on all sides of the cake and serve.
