No wait sourdough discard waffles are so simple to mix together! You’ll be eating waffles in under 10 minutes with no compromise on that sourdough flavor you love!

Ingredients

200 g Sourdough Starter (discard or fed and bubbly)

2 Eggs

180 g Whole Milk (or buttermilk)

50 g Butter, melted

150 g All Purpose Flour

50 g Sugar

12 g Baking Powder (2 teaspoons)

5 g Salt (½ teaspoon)

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together sourdough starter, milk and eggs until well combined.

2. Pour in the melted butter and stir through the starter mixture.

3. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, salt, baking powder and sugar.

4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.

5. Mix until a pourable batter forms.

6. Heat waffle iron and spoon batter in.

7. Cook until desired crispness is reached. Serve hot.

Notes

You can use either milk or buttermilk.

If you make cultured butter, the buttermilk by-product is perfect for this recipe.

Cook soft or crispy based on preference.
