  • 1 English cucumber (or 4 Persian cucumbers)
  • 5 scallions (thinly sliced)
  • 1 red chili pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1/2 cup basil leaves
  • 3 Tbsp Tamari (low sodium)
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2-3 tsp maple syrup
  • Toasted sesame seeds or crispy fried onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Steam the frozen dumplings according to the package instructions. Toss them in a large bowl with a teaspoon of sesame oil or water to prevent sticking.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix Tamari, balsamic vinegar, and maple syrup to create the dressing. Pour over the dumplings and toss gently.
  3. Chop heirloom tomatoes, slice cucumbers, and scallions; add them to the bowl along with optional chili pepper.
  4. Tear basil leaves over the top and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or crispy fried onions before serving at room temperature.
