This Pizza Grilled Cheese is bursting with flavor—melty mozzarella, crispy pepperoni, and a golden garlic butter crust come together for the ultimate comfort food mashup. Serve with warm pizza sauce for dipping and enjoy a fun twist on two classics!

Garlic Butter Mixture:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, very soft
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

For Assembly:

  • 8 slices white bread
  • 12 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 6 ounces pepperoni
  • Warm pizza sauce, for dipping

Instructions

Prepare Garlic Butter: In a medium bowl, mix together the softened butter, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until smooth and well combined.

Butter the Bread: Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each bread slice. Place the slices butter-side-up on a tray until ready to use.

Assemble the Sandwiches:

Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.

Place a slice of bread, butter-side-down, into the skillet.

Layer with one slice of mozzarella, 6 slices of pepperoni, another slice of mozzarella, another 6 slices of pepperoni, and finish with a third slice of mozzarella.

Top with another slice of bread, butter-side-up.

Cook the Sandwiches:

Cover the skillet with a lid to help melt the cheese.

Cook for 3–5 minutes or until the bottom slice is golden brown.

Carefully flip the sandwich with a spatula, replace the lid, and cook the second side until golden brown and cheese is melted.

Repeat with remaining sandwiches.

Serve: Serve hot with warm pizza sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Cook sandwiches in batches to avoid overcrowding the skillet.
  • To keep sandwiches crispy, place them on a wire rack over a sheet tray instead of stacking or placing directly on a plate.
  • Add other pizza toppings (like mushrooms, olives, or bell peppers) for extra flavor.
  • Substitute your favorite bread or cheese—provolone or parmesan also work great.
