  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 ½ cups half-and-half
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 loaf brioche or challah, cut into thick slices
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (for caramelizing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the caramel base by melting butter in a saucepan. Stir in brown sugar and corn syrup until smooth, then spread it evenly in a greased baking dish.
  2. Layer thick slices of bread over the caramel mixture.

  4. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
