Description

This healthy breakfast apple crumble is the perfect way to start your day! Not overly sweet, gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free. It’s made with simple ingredients like apples, oats, cinnamon, honey, and nuts. Enjoy it warm with yogurt or milk for breakfast—or top with vanilla ice cream for dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 sweet apples, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons coconut oil

  • For the Crumble Topping:
  • 2/3 cup oats
  • 2/3 cup pecans
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon water (as needed to blend)

Instructions

  • In a large pan over medium-high heat, sauté the chopped apples with cinnamon, salt, and coconut oil. Cover and cook for 2–3 minutes until slightly softened.

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

  • In a food processor, combine all crumble topping ingredients. Add a splash of water (about 1 tablespoon) and pulse until a crumbly mixture forms that sticks together slightly.

  • Lightly oil a small baking pan or line with parchment paper. Spread the sautéed apples evenly in the dish.

  • Squeeze the crumble topping mixture into small clumps and distribute over the apples.

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the crumble topping is golden brown.

  • Let cool slightly. Serve warm with milk or yogurt for breakfast or with ice cream for dessert.

Notes

Use any sweet variety of apples—like Gala, Fuji, or Honeycrisp.

For extra crunch, add sunflower seeds or shredded coconut to the crumble.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
