Detailed Recipe & Step By Step Instruction Here
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Mix with a fork until combined.
Transfer the dough to a clean surface and knead by hand for about 2 minutes until smooth.
Shape the dough into a ball and let it rest for 10 minutes at room temperature.
After resting, divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle about ⅜-inch thick.
Heat 1 inch of oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium heat until it reaches 375°F (190°C).
Carefully place the dough pieces into the hot oil in batches—do not overcrowd the pan.
Fry each side for about 1 minute, then flip and cook for 1 more minute, or until golden brown and puffed.
Remove and drain on paper towels.
Sprinkle generously with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Storing: Keep leftover fried dough in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
Reheating: Warm in the oven at 350°F (170°C) for a few minutes to restore crispiness.
Flavor Tip: You can also top with cinnamon sugar, honey, or even chocolate syrup for variety.
