Description

These easy grilled Asian chicken skewers are glazed with a sweet, tangy, and garlicky honey sauce. Perfectly juicy, full of flavor, and ideal for grilling or oven baking.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Thread chicken cubes onto soaked bamboo skewers, leaving small space between pieces.

3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

4. Whisk in honey, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Bring to a simmer.

5. Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup water and stir into sauce. Cook until thickened (2–3 minutes), then remove from heat.

6. Grill Method: Cook skewers for 5–7 minutes per side. Brush with sauce during last minutes of cooking.

7. Oven Method: Bake skewers for 20 minutes, then brush with sauce and broil 2–3 minutes for glaze.

8. Let rest a few minutes before serving. Serve with extra sauce on the side.


Notes

Marinate chicken in half the sauce for 1–2 hours for deeper flavor.

Add vegetables like bell peppers, onions, or zucchini between chicken pieces.

Soak bamboo skewers for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.

Adjust sauce thickness by varying cornstarch-water ratio.

Serve over steamed rice or with an Asian-style salad for a full meal.
