  • 1 cup milk (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • For the egg wash: 2 teaspoons egg yolk and 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the milk, condensed milk, egg, salt, and yeast.
  2. Gradually sift in the flour and mix with a spatula until combined. Add softened butter and mix well.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 15-20 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Gently press down the dough to release air and divide it into two portions. Shape each portion into loaves and place them in a loaf pan.
  6. Cover lightly and allow to rise for another 45 minutes.
  7. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake for approximately 22 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush warm loaves with a glaze made from whisking together softened butter and condensed milk.
