Chocolate Cake with Crispy Rice Cereal & Cinnamon

Chocolate Cake with Crispy Rice Cereal & Cinnamon

Chocolate Cake with Crispy Rice Cereal & Cinnamon

Serving Size: 18
Preparation & Cooking Time: 1 hour and 30 minutes
Ingredients:
Cooking spray
½ teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup crispy rice cereal
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
8 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup butter
¼ cup brown sugar
2 cups granulated sugar
3 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
1 cup milk
Topping
1 to 2 cups chocolate frosting


Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
Spray your baking pan with oil.
In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder and salt.
Add the crispy rice cereal, chopped chocolate, ground cinnamon and brown sugar to a food processor.
Pulse until coarsely chopped and fully combined.
Using an electric mixer on the medium speed, beat the butter and sugar for 2 minutes or until fluffy.
Stir in the eggs, 1 at a time.
Beat in the vanilla bean paste.
Mix on low speed for 1 minute.
Gradually add the flour mixture and beat for 5 minutes more.
Pour the cake batter into the baking pan.
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
Let cool on a wire rack.
Apply the chocolate frosting on top of the cake.
Refrigerate for 15 minutes before serving.
