Description
If you love cheddar bay biscuits, you will love this delicious bread. It’s a quick bread and goes with just about any meal!
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon table salt or sea salt
- 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (shred your own)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk (whole milk or 2%)
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
Topping:
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
Instructions for Bread:
Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
Stir in shredded cheese, egg, milk, and melted butter.
Spray or grease a 9×5 bread pan.
Spread batter in the pan and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 35 to 40 minutes, until the center tests done and the top is browned.
Remove from oven and pour topping over bread while still hot.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing.
Instructions for Topping:
Combine all topping ingredients and heat in the microwave until the butter is melted.
Mix and pour over the bread when it comes out of the oven.
Notes
Could add Italian seasoning instead of parsley flakes or any spices you like.
