Cheddar Bay Biscuit Bread

If you love cheddar bay biscuits, you will love this delicious bread. It’s a quick bread and goes with just about any meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon white granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon table salt or sea salt
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (shred your own)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk or 2%)
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

Topping:

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  • Instructions for Bread:

    • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

    • Stir in shredded cheese, egg, milk, and melted butter.

    • Spray or grease a 9×5 bread pan.

    • Spread batter in the pan and bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 35 to 40 minutes, until the center tests done and the top is browned.

    • Remove from oven and pour topping over bread while still hot.

    • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing.

 

  • Instructions for Topping:

    • Combine all topping ingredients and heat in the microwave until the butter is melted.

    • Mix and pour over the bread when it comes out of the oven.

Notes

Could add Italian seasoning instead of parsley flakes or any spices you like.
