  • 1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp blackstrap molasses
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 3/4 cup dried cherries
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour, rolled oats, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, white sugar, egg, and blackstrap molasses until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in dried cherries, chopped walnuts, and dark chocolate chips.
  5. Portion the dough into balls using about 1/3 cup for each cookie and roll into shape.
  6. Place on prepared baking sheets with space in between and bake for approximately 15 minutes. Press cookies down gently and bake for an additional 3–5 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow to cool on a wire rack before enjoying.
